Welcome to Vita Canis Dog Boarding Kennels, where dogs relax, play, and feel right at home. Set in the peaceful surroundings of rural Staffordshire, our small and exclusive kennels offer individualised, loving care for your dog—whether it's a playful pup, a senior companion, or a terrier in need of coat care.

With just six kennels, we focus on quality over quantity, ensuring each guest receives personal attention, daily exercise, and a cosy space to rest. Run by passionate dog lovers with decades of hands-on experience, we offer everything from daily walks to on-site grooming, hand-stripping, and cuddles on tap.

Check In & Check Out 

Open daily: 10:00 am – 11:00 am 

                    4:00 pm – 5:00 pm

• Collections between 9.30 am -10:00 am do not incur that day's charge.

• Collections after 10:00 am will be charged for the full day.

• Late collections: £5 per hour outside of agreed times.

Food & Treats 

• Please bring enough of your dog's usual food and treats. 
• If not provided, a £2/day feeding charge will apply. 
• Any additional food required will be charged at cost.

Veterinary Care 

• Pre-existing health issues must be declared.
• We reserve the right to refuse dogs that are not fit for boarding. 

• In case of illness or emergency: 

1. We will attempt to use your vet (if local). 

2. Otherwise, we use Glenthornes Veterinary Practice in Uttoxeter. 

• The owner must cover all vet costs and related travel expenses.

Arrival 

• Dogs remain your responsibility until checked in at reception.  
• Please ensure your dog wears a collar with a name tag and your contact number. 
• Off-site, your dog will wear an ID tag with our details.

Bedding & Toys

• We provide plastic beds with vet bedding and blankets. 
• You are welcome to bring your own, but we cannot take responsibility for damage or loss. 

Uncollected Dogs 

Dogs not collected within 14 days of the agreed departure may be rehomed. Every effort will be made to contact you and your emergency contact beforehand. You will be responsible for all boarding and rehoming costs.

Vaccinations & Health 

• Up-to-date vaccinations (or valid titre testing) are required. 
• Dogs must be treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. 
• Kennel Cough: While we do not knowingly accept infected dogs, the condition is airborne and beyond our control. 

Payment & Cancellations 

• Stays 7+ days: £50/week non-refundable deposit required.
• Stays under 7 days: 30% cancellation fee if cancelled within 5 days of start date. 
• Payment methods: Cash or card only (no cheques).
•  Prices reviewed annually – existing bookings will honour original pricing.
• Early collection does not affect the full charge. 

Security

Our premises are monitored by CCTV at all times. Footage is for internal use only and will not be released under any circumstances.
